SignalFire AirQ Scout™ Earns Class I, Division 1 Certification for Continuous Methane Monitoring in Hazardous Environments

Certification enables safe deployment in flammable gas environments across oil & gas operations.

Marlborough, MA — February 5, 2026 — SignalFire Telemetry, Inc. today announced that its AirQ Scout™ with Methane Sensing has achieved Class I, Division 1 (C1D1) certification, enabling safe, continuous methane monitoring in hazardous locations where flammable gases are routinely present.

Developed to address growing demand for continuous methane detection, the AirQ Scout can now be deployed directly at emission sources—including well pads, production sites, landfill operations, and compressor facilities—without compromising safety or regulatory compliance.

Unlike wired or power-intensive monitoring systems, the AirQ Scout is fully wireless and engineered for ultra-low-power operation, delivering multi-year battery life without trenching, conduit, or external power. This enables rapid, scalable deployment while significantly reducing installation costs, site disruption, and ongoing maintenance in hazardous environments.

With methane emissions under increasing regulatory scrutiny from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and global regulators, operators are under pressure to strengthen leak detection and repair (LDAR) programs and improve emissions transparency. The certified AirQ Scout provides continuous, verifiable data to support compliance initiatives, emissions reduction efforts, and ESG reporting objectives.

“Class I, Division 1 certification was essential for customers operating in regulated and hazardous environments,” said Sandro Esposito, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at SignalFire Telemetry. “This milestone allows operators to safely deploy methane monitoring where it matters most—at the source—supporting emissions reduction, regulatory compliance, and environmental accountability.”

Designed for long-term, low-maintenance operation, the AirQ Scout combines ultra-low power consumption with industrial-grade wireless telemetry. Data is transmitted securely to SignalFire gateways and cloud dashboards, delivering real-time visibility and historical reporting to support informed operational decisions.

As regulatory requirements and environmental expectations continue to evolve, SignalFire’s AirQ Scout provides a certified, field-ready solution that enables operators to transition from periodic inspections to continuous emissions monitoring.
